Who we are, what we stand for — and why we believe that the voices of young Roma in Europe must finally be heard.

ΓΕΙΑ ΣΑΣ!

Roma youth, growing into leadership

Greece is home to vibrant Roma communities that continue to face barriers to quality education, equal opportunities and meaningful participation in public life. Discrimination, social exclusion and limited access to decision-making processes continue to affect the lives of many Roma children and young people, making inclusion, empowerment and civic participation essential for creating more equitable communities.

What we do

Our services

KEAN is a Greek civil society organisation dedicated to promoting human rights, social inclusion and youth participation. By working closely with young people and local communities, it creates opportunities for Roma children and youth to strengthen their leadership, build confidence and play an active role in shaping more inclusive communities.

Promoting Inclusion

We create opportunities for vulnerable young people to participate, belong and become active members of society.

Human Rights Education

We raise awareness of children’s rights, equality, diversity and democratic values through educational and participatory activities.

Preventing Discrimination

We work against exclusion, isolation and discrimination by promoting intercultural dialogue and equal opportunities.

Supporting Vulnerable Youth

We provide empowering, educational and recreational activities for children, young people and vulnerable groups.

Preventing Early Marriage

We support child-centred approaches that help Roma girls and marginalised teenagers understand their rights and shape their own futures.

Building Youth Leadership

We help young people develop confidence, communication skills and leadership capacities through local and European project activities.

Team

The persons behind

A team of educators, activists, and Roma representatives — across six countries. We work participatively: many of our colleagues are part of the Roma community themselves.
